Der Rhein-Main-Donaukanal durchschneidet das Gemeindegebiet Schwanstetten im Westen. Südlich der Kreisstraße RH 1 kann man die Schleuse Leerstetten sehen, die mit einer Hubhöhe von 24,67 Metern zu den größten Schleusen Europas zählt. Es lohnt sich also, einen Schleusgang zu beobachten!
