1799 wurde der berühmte Turm der Stadt unfreiwilliger Wohnsitz eines Räubers: Für ein halbes Jahr saß dort Johannes Bückler alias »Schinderhannes« in Haft, bevor ihm die Flucht gelang. Das einstige Verlies kann besichtigt werden.
