Hirvenniemen tankkauslaiturin läheisyydessä on ABC (Ratatie) ja Teboil (Leipäkuja) huoltoasemat.

Pienveneiden tankkauslaituri on noin 15 metrin pituinen ja noin 3 metrin levyinen betoniponttoonilaituri.

Louheesta ja kivestä rakennettu aallonmurtaja suojaa laituria länsi- ja luoteistuulelta sekä aallokolta.

Laiturilla on Sotkamon veneilijöiden maitokärryt polttoainetankin tai -kanisterin kuljettamiseen. Kärryt ovat lukossa ja niihin saa avaoinkoodin liittymällä Sotkamon Veneilijät ry:n jäseneksi.

Laiturin läheisyydessä ovat myös muita kauppoja.

Laiturin kunnosta vastaa Sotkamon kunta.
