Der Weißensee liegt westlich von Füssen und östlich von Pfronten im Ostallgäu.

Er erstreckt sich bis zu 25 m in die Tiefe und 2,4 km in die Länge und wird im Sommer intensiv als Badesee genutzt. Am westlichen Ufer befindet sich eine Badestelle mit Liegewiese und Kiosk. Ein Rundweg um den See ist die ideale Möglichkeit für einen Sonntagsspaziergang, wobei dieser am Südufer über den Hugo-Ludwig-Steg sowie durch das Felsentor führt.
