Dort, wo sich heute der Stadtsee befindet, lag früher feuchtes Sumpfland mit reichlich Wasser. Das wurde nicht nur von den Färbern und Gerbern gebraucht, sondern auch für das Vieh benötigt. Der idyllische See liegt ca. 2 min von der historischen Altstadt Pfullendorfs entfernt.
