This idyllically situated lake is a popular destination in Sonthofen in summer and winter.
The Sonthofen lake is great for swimming and relaxing but is also a perfect starting point for a walk in nature. The lake, which captivates with its idyllic yet central location, is often used by the people of Sonthofen as a recreational area. There is a beautiful path around the lake, which is about half an hour long and invites you to walk around the lake even in winter. A large lawn for sunbathing (with changing facilities) and many smaller bathing spots offer the chance to cool down on hot summer days.

Access via Bihlerdorf in the direction of Westerhofen.
Parking
There is a car park on the left at the end of Oberzollbrücke in the direction of Westerhofen. There are further parking facilities on the south side of the lake in the Illersiedlung district of Sonthofen.
