Ein Besuch am Mummelsee bietet vielerlei Erlebnisse und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Neben den landschaftlichen Reizen mit der herrlichen malerischen Lage des Sees gibt es Tretboote zu mieten, man kann die Kunstwerke moderner Künstler auf einem Kunstpfad besichtigen oder eine kleine Rundwanderung zum nahen Hornisgrindegipfel unternehmen. Auf dem barrierefreien Rundweg kann man gemütlich den See umrunden. Die Kinder können am Spielplatz Toben. Eigene Holzofenbäckerei!

Auf großes Interesse stoßen die Schwarzwaldläden mit begehrten Souvenirartikeln bis hin zur weltbekannten Kuckucksuhr. Eine Besonderheit ist auch das Angebot von zahlreichen schmackhaften Schwarzwaldprodukten und eigenem Holzofenbrot. Im Sommer kann man dem Bäcker beim Backen von Bauernbrot im original Holzofen zuschauen. Wenn man großes Glück hat, begegnet man dem Mummelseekönig.
Im Berghotel selbst werden die Gäste nach allen Regeln der Kunst mit vielseitigen regionalen Speise- und Getränkeangeboten verwöhnt. Moderne Gästezimmer lassen jeden Besucher erholsam bei sehr guter Höhenluft schlafen.

Der Wasserabfluss des Mummelsees erfolgt in das "Seebächle" , welches recht steil und schnell in das reizvolle Seebachtal abfließt, bevor es sich im Tal mit dem größeren Strom der Acher vereinigt. Der Mummelsee mit seinem Seebächle sind die Namensgeber für das Schwarzwalddorf Seebach.

Übrigens, der Mummelsee ist einer der sieben verbliebenen Karseen des Schwarzwaldes. Die Karseen sind Überbleibsel der letzten Eiszeit. Der Mummelsee ist mit 800 m Umfang der größte, mit 17 m Tiefe der tiefste und mit 1.036 m Höhenlage der höchste der sieben Karseen.
