With its large water surface, Ohmbachsee Lake is the largest contiguous body of water in the Western Palatinate.
Ohmbachsee Lake is well worth a visit. It was created in 1975, with a water surface measuring approx. 15 ha that is 1.5 km long and up to 300 metres wide. The lake's surroundings are designed as a park, with a 3.5 km circular hiking trail around the lake.
Ohmbachsee Lake reflects the sky as if it were a shining, open eye. The recreational area is perfect for unwinding, having fun, celebrating and relaxing. (Note: Bathing is not allowed). There is a water play area with a giant slide for children. A hotel and a camping site are attached. The pedal boat rental service by the water play area (Pfalzcard guests get 30 minutes for free) is open from April to October.
The project "Sculptures at the Ohmbachsee" by the artist LILAU was set up in 2015, 2016 and 2018 around Ohmbachsee Lake.
