Der Hopfensee nördlich von Füssen wurde während der Würmeiszeit von einem Gletscher geformt. Er ist mit einer maximalen Tiefe von 10 m einer der flachsten – und somit auch einer der wärmsten Badeseen im Allgäu und vor allem das Nordufer mit dem Ort Hopfen am See ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel.
