Der Hollersee ist ein künstlich angelegterStausee, durch den ein Teil des HollerbachsRichtung Morre fließt.

Der See und der umgebende Wald bietenLebensraum für eine Reihe von Wassertierenund Insekten. Besonders beliebtist der See bei Joggern, Spaziergängernund Anglern.1971 ließ die Stadt Buchen von Fachleutenein Gutachten zur Anlage eines kleinenStausees erstellen. Damit sollte vorallemder Fremdenverkehr in und um Buchengefördert werden.Das Gelände im Hollerbacher Tal oberhalb des Schwimmbades wurde als geeigneterStandort auf Grund von Lage, Bodenbeschaffenheit und Möglichkeiten desDammbaus ausgewählt.Mitte der 1970er Jahre begann die Stadt Buchen mit dem Bau des Sees. Anfang der1980er Jahre begann der Fischeinsatz und die Befischung. Der Angelverein, der sichbis heute um den See kümmert, wurde gegründet.
