Nahe der Stadt Schleiz, liegt der 28 km lange Bleilochstausee, dessen östliches Ufer zum Thüringer Vogtland zählt. Die fjordähnliche Landschaft des Stausees lädt zu Wassersportaktivitäten, Bootfahren, Angeln, Radfahren, Wandern und Erholung ein.

Die Bleilochtalsperre - auch Bleilochstausee genannt - ist eine Talsperre in Thüringen, die das Wasser der Saale anstaut. Er hat von allen Stauseen in Deutschland das größte Fassungsvolumen und wird auch das "Thüringer Meer" genannt. Das östliche Ufer mit der Stadt Schleiz und der Gemeinde Tanna gehört zum Thüringer Vogtland. Die Bleilochtalsperre ist ein beliebtes Naherholungsgebiet.
