Lake with breathtaking views of Romanian mountain ranges

This glacial lake is located on Transfagarasan Highway in the Carpathians in central Romania. In its surroundings you can find the peaks of the country’s two highest mountains, Negoiu and Moldoveanu. As Transfagarasan Highway is only open during summer time, in winter/spring you can only get there from the northern side via cable car. As its serpentines seem to emd up there in the clouds, the route’s northern section is also called “Street into the clouds“.
