Die klingenden Kieselsteine dieses Lithophons (von griechisch „lithos“ = Stein und „phone“ = Laut) wurden während der Eiszeit vor mehr als 10 000 Jahren vom Lech- und Ammer-Gletscher geformt und später vom Fluss weitertransportiert und geschliffen.
Gefunden und zum Steinzeit-Keyboard zusammengestellt hat sie der Steinmusiker und Gründer des Kiesel-Konservatoriums Karl Michael Ranftl. Seine Empfehlung an alle Spieler:
