In der fünften Vision des ersten Buches des Scivias sieht Hildegard die Synagoge als Frauengestalt. Sie symbolisiert das Judentum, das Hildegard hoch schätzte. In ihrem Herzen hält Moses (mit mittelalterlichem Judenhut) die Gesetzestafel mit den zehn Geboten hoch, und in ihrem Schoß sind sämtliche Prophetinnen und Propheten des Alten Testaments versammelt.
