Die NABU-Zentren betreuen und pflegen 28 Schutzgebiete am westlichen Bodensee.
Das Bodenseezentrum bzw. die Ausstellung ist aufgrund der aktuellen Situation bis zum 30. April 2020 geschlossen. Alle Veranstaltungen (Öffentliche Führungen, Vorträge, Kindergruppen etc.) sind ebenfalls bis zum 30. April abgesagt.
Die wichtigste Aufgabe der Zentren ist der Schutz und die lebendige Weiterentwicklung unserer natürlichen Umwelt als Heimat zahlreicher Tiere und Pflanzen, in der auch wir Menschen Ruhe, Kraft und Entspannung finden können.
Das im Oktober 2018 neu eröffnete NABU-Bodenseezentrum (zusammengefasst aus den bishigerigen NABU-Zentren Wollmatinger Ried und Mettnau sowie der Bezirksgeschäftsstelle Donau-Bodensee) präsentiert im Hauptgebäude eine Dauerausstellung, die bildstark in die Naturerlebniswelt zwischen Bodenseeufer und Hegau einführt.
