The memorial, operated by the Saxon Memorials Foundation, serves as an information and educational center as well as a point of contact for relatives of former prisoners of war.

Public transport
Bus- Line 439 runs between the Riesa train station/bus station and the Gröditz bus station. Use the “Ehrenhain” bus stop, across from the entrance to the memorial on the B 169. From there, it’s about a 700-meter walk.

Train

Directions
Memorial- Coming from Riesa on the B 169, drive about 10 km toward Gröditz; turn right at the obelisk marked “Gedenkstätte Ehrenhain Zeithain” (100 m past a gas station).
Cemeteries
- The cemeteries where the prisoners of war were buried are, in some cases, quite far apart and difficult to reach by public transportation. If you would like to visit the cemeteries, we therefore recommend that you first come to the memorial site. The staff at the memorial can then provide you with detailed directions and maps showing the best way to reach the individual cemeteries.

- Free parking is available right at the entrance to the grounds.
