The new town hall (since 1918) and former Rosenberg Palace fills the west end of the Neuer Platz square.

It was erected on the ashes of a fire around 1650. In 1660, Emperor Leopold I was a guest here.
Still remaining from the 16th century are the rustic ashlar portal made from chlorite schist, the corner towers, and the double staircase. The facade was classically remodelled in the early 19th century. In 1996, a lift was built with a shear wall facing the inner courtyard.
