Der Mannfelsen in Otzenhausen besteht aus Taunusquarzit. Der Taunusquarzit erodiert wegen seiner Verwitterungsbeständigkeit langsamer als der Hunsrückschiefer.

Es waren einmal ein Sohn eines Keltenfürsten, der in eine Tochter eines anderen Keltenfürsten verliebt war. Das junge Pärchen wollte heiraten. Aber die beiden Familien waren leider verfeindet. Um die verbotene Liebe und die Hochzeit zu verhindern, wurden die beiden von einem der Keltenfürsten in zwei riesige Felsen verwandelt. Die beiden Felsen stehen im selben Tal, aber auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten. So können sie sich immer sehen, aber sie werden sich nie erreichen können. Von diesem Standort kann man den Mannfelsen sehen, den versteinerten Sohn. Die hohen Bäume versperren die Sicht auf die versteinerte Tochter.
