The washhouse is the only one still existing in the Haguenau area. The fresh water basin already existed at the beginning of the 19th century and was built by the municipality of Haguenau in 1887. The washhouse is fed directly by a spring that is still active today. It is ergonomically laid out with an inclined plane made of Vosges sandstone, allowing the laundry to be brushed standing up
This washhouse is located on the edge of the forest, on the Haguenau-Lembach cycle route.
