Named after the founder named Knoro, the small wine-growing community in the northeast of landauland is inhabited by the “Knöringer Amseln”. However, the name does not derive from the singing talent of the Knöringers, but from the name of an ox that was traditionally driven through the village during the Kerwe.
Wine village with 440 inhabitants.

The 13 earth cellars are unique in the Palatinate: 350-year-old tunnels where potatoes and vegetables were stored at a constant 5 to 7°C. The branched tunnels extend up to 10m into the clay soil. Excavated and documented since 2016, they serve, among other things, as a refuge for bats. A visit is possible upon request.
