Ein einzigartiges Freilichtmuseum deutscher Festungsarchitektur!
Auf der Südseite der Donau - nur über den Donausteg von der Altstadt getrennt - befindet sich der Klenzepark mit seinen beeindruckenden, nach Plänen von Leo von Klenze erbauten klassizistischen Festungsanlagen. Im prämierten Klenzepark fand 1992 die Bayerische Landesgartenschau statt. Das Bayerische Armeemuseum präsentiert dort im Reduit Tilly die Geschichte des 1. Weltkrieges und im Turm Triva das Bayerische Polizeimuseum.
