Der Brand des Jahres 1851 hat das ursprüngliche Gepräge der Stadt weitgehend zerstört. Von kunsthistorischer Relevanz sind daher vor allem der Jugendstil und verwandte Formen. Dem Gebäude in der Bahnhofstraße 16 liegt ein preisgekrönter Entwurf der bekannten Architekten und Baumeister Josef und Sebastian Polz zugrunde. Zu empfehlen ist ein Abstecher in das Villenviertel am Wochinger Spitz (Leonrod-, Hausen-, St.-Oswald-Straße), wo weitere schöne Jugendstil-Fassaden zu bewundern sind.
