Bei dem Dürren-Stein handelt es sich um den Grenzstein einer Waldgemarkung, der 1911 vom Pfälzerwald-Verein Erlenbach mit einer Ruhebank versehen und in Franzenruhe (Franzelsbank) umbenannt wurde.

Ein Abstecher zum linkerhand 200 m entfernten Aussichtspunkt „Weltachsblick“ lohnt sich hier.
