The health resort and Kneipp spa town of Daun - a small town nestled in the gentle hills of the Vulkaneifel and in close proximity to the three most famous volcanic lakes of the Eifel, the Daun Maars. As calm and idyllic as it may seem at first glance, Daun is not so: Here, it has been bubbling and broiling beneath the earth's surface for millennia. The Dauner Dresse (mineral springs) testify to this to this day. But there's no reason to worry: The volcanoes around Daun are slumbering deep and sound. Yet they create a unique landscape that invites you to unwind.
In the 1,280-year-old town with its many quiet and relaxing spots - such as the Dunaris healing spring, the spa park, or the Hotzendrees - one can wonderfully spend a wellness, hiking, or cycling holiday. Here begins the Maare-Mosel cycle path, the famous Eifelsteig, and the Lieser path leads through the town and along the Lieser to Manderscheid.
Various recreational facilities such as the natural swimming pools of the Maars, the wildlife and adventure park, or the spa and indoor swimming pool as well as a city center with many beautiful shops make the holiday in and around Daun unforgettable.
