The Collaire bread oven was built around 1435. This is where the bread was baked for the Troistorrents church congregation, notably during the feast of the Pentecost.

The present Collaire oven is thought to have been built around 1610. The Monthey archives, however, mention the existence of eight bread ovens in the Troistorrents commune around 1457, one of which was located in Collaire (p. 50, in the book Au Fil du Paysage de l'Eau, Pierre Alain Bezat, 2005).

The date 1852 engraved on the pediment of the door may indicate a restoration date!

Carefully restored in 2019, a committee of volunteer members manages the historic building and organizes occasional bake-offs.
