Immerse yourself in history with this strategic casemate of the Maginot Line, which played a key role in the fighting of June 1940 under the command of Lieutenant Rieffel.

This structure of the Maginot Line is one of the 5 fortifications defending the communal area of Oberrœdern and was part of the main line of defence between the imposing artillery structure of Schœnenbourg and the shelter of Hatten. The two-storey casemate. It was one of the first to be built on the Maginot line in 1930. It sheltered 24 men under its reinforced concrete shell. Attacked in June 1940 and January 1945, it still bears the marks of these bombings, like the 4 other casemates located in the town.
