Die Schäferei in Wildberg wird 1298 erstmals erwähnt. Im Jahr 1723 wurde der Schäferlauf erstmals in Wildberg bei einem Zunfttreffen durchgeführt.

Die Alte Schafscheuer wurde früher für die Schäferei genutzt, später war sie Heimat des städtischen Bauhofs. Die Schafscheuer kann nur von außen besichtigt werden.
