Die gute Stube von Waldshut ist die Altstadt mit schönen Bürgerhäusern aus der Rennaissance und einem barocken Rathausbau. Zentrale Achse ist die brunnengeschmückte und vom Stadtbach durchflossene Kaiserstraße zwischen Schaffhauser Tor und Basler Tor. Reste der Stadtbefestigung zeigen sich am Hexenturm um Luginslandturm am Rand des schluchtartigen Seltenbachtals.
