Auf den Spuren der Jahrtausende

324 Stufen und 1,5 Stunden durch die Wolfsklamm

Am kalten und feuchten Fels entlang geht es über, durch Geländer gesicherte, Holzsteige die Klamm hinauf. Von oben fällt das vom grünen Laubdach gefilterte Licht herab. Der Blick folgt dem kalten, grünblauen Wasser in die tiefen Gräben der Schlucht.

Auf den Brücken, die die Schlucht immer wieder überspannen, kann der Besucher die Enge der Klamm, die Kraft des Wassers und die Wucht des aufprallenden Bergbachs unmittelbar erleben. In so genannten Kolken, schalenförmigen Felsplatten, die das Bergwasser durch seinen Aufprall und den dabei entstehenden Strudel immer weiter auswäscht, dreht sich das Wasser. Erwachsene und Kinder begreifen in der Wolfsklamm schnell, wie sich das Wasser immer tiefer in den Fels gräbt.

Am letzten Wasserfall vorbei endet die Klamm an einer zwölf Meter hohen Sperrmauer. Die donnernden Wassermassen zurücklassend sind es nurmehr wenige Meter bis zur Wallfahrtskirche St.Georgenberg, die hoch auf dem Karwendelfels thront. Die Schritte von der Enge ins Licht weiten hier nicht nur Pilgern die Brust!
