It is not only its length but manmade climbing aids in one section that make this gorge exceptional among the ones in Bakony Mountains. A wide range of rock formations typical in calcareous ravines will make your hike memorable and adventurous.

Hiking along Ördög-árok is a memorable experience not only because of the picuresque ravine alone but a formation called Ördög-gát (Devil's Dam) in the middle. It is a chunk of rock broken off forming a natural dam and a small waterfall with its plunge pool in Dudari Creek. You may climb to the top via iron steps and a ladder holding a cable or take a short detour on a safer path. The safety aids were implemeted by the Association for Developing Csesznek.

At another point you may balance on huge rocks to avoid a cold bath in the creek. While the gorge widens at the ends, the middle section is narrowed by high and rough cliffs. Creek erosion is clearly visible on the underlying bedrock, plunge pools, the creekbed and debris around.

Being a calcareous (and partly dolomitic) area there are several small cavities in the sides. The gorge was carved by the creek and its sediment, cutting its way deeper and deeper in the rock mass and forming a ravine of various widths.
