Georgian grandeur on a human scale; neoclassical mansion set in 'Capability' Brown's final landscape and gardens.
**Berrington Hall:** A Georgian mansion with striking red sandstone exterior, and sweeping views across Herefordshire and Wales. Set within Capability Brown’s final landscape, the mansion invites exploration of its elegant family rooms and servants’ quarters, revealing life both above and below stairs. **Parkland:** Explore every corner of the estate with walks across the extensive parkland. Don't miss the 14-acre serpentine lake, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). At its heart lies Heron Island, where a large colony of herons returns each spring to nest, adding to the site’s natural charm. **Gardens:** A historic walled garden. kitchen garden and orchard now enhanced by a newly opened flower garden. Launched in summer 2025, the new garden includes sweeping flower beds, striking structures to create Wisteria Umbrellas and a restored, extended Wisteria Walk to offer a seasonal wow factor. An accessible path network ensures that all visitors can enjoy the garden’s evolving floral displays. Adding to the charm is *The Curve,* a rare curved-wall section that brings an extra layer of historic interest. **Family things to see and do:** Families can unwind in the nearby woodlands, ideal for natural play. Children can enjoy the play area near the mansion or get creative in the den-building zone. There's seasonal family activities and trails throughout the year too. **Café and bookshop:** All of this, along with a café and a second-hand bookshop, makes for a perfect day out in Herefordshire.
