Pelhřimovská děkanská zahrada vznikla už na začátku 17. století a stala se součástí fary. Obnovil ji až děkan Vaněk ve třicátých letech 20. století.
Děkanská zahrada je klidné místo uprostřed Pelhřimova a vytváří příjemné oddechové prostředí v centru města.
V zahradním domku zřídilo město památník pelhřimovskému děkanovi Msgre. Františku Bernardu Vaňkovi (1872–1944). V zahradním domku rád pobýval a psal své články a kázání. Vlastenecký kněz zemřel v koncentračním táboře v Dachau. Zařízení domku bylo zrekonstruováno podle dobových fotografií do téměř původní podoby.
