Former school and sexton's house

This house was first built in Schiffdorf in 1774 by the parish as a school and sexton's house. It cost 321 thaler and 71 grote at the time. The so-called crutch cross above the Grootdör is remarkable. This striking beam construction is a rarity - there are only three of them in our region.

In 1861, the people of Schiffdorf built a larger schoolhouse. Heinrich Hokemeyer from Sellstedt bought the old building for demolition and rebuilt it on Kampstraße as a residential and farm building.

In 1993, the municipality of Schiffdorf rebuilt Hokemeyers Hus - named after Hinrich Hokemeyer (1857-1924) - as a home and meeting place in a central location.
