Forte austro-ungarico del primo grande conflitto mondiale (1914-1918), uno dei sette forti degli Altipiani. Costruito tra il 1911 e il 1913, aveva lo scopo di controllare l'alta Val d'Astico e l'altopiano dei Fiorentini.

Uscito dal conflitto danneggiato ma integro, ha subito la demolizione della spessa copertura di cemento e acciaio nel 1936 nell'ambito della campagna 'Ferro alla Patria'. Nei dintorni sono da visitare l'ex cimitero militare, i ruderi dell'Ospedale militare di Val Fredda e la Scala dell'Imperatore.

Il forte è un rudere, sempre accessibile. E' possibile visitare la poterna centrale e fuoriuscire da una delle sedi delle cupole corazzate, nel blocco delle batterie. Consigliata una torcia. Presenza di ristagni d'acqua dopo giornate di pioggia.

Dal Passo del Sommo (Folgaria) seguire la SP dei Fiorentini per circa 11 km fino all'albergo Cherle.. Lasciata la macchina nell'area parcheggio antistante l'albergo, seguire le indicazioni. Il forte è a circa 300 m. Facile passeggiata su sentiero erboso.
