Ganerben von Vellberg bis ins Kochertal

Die Bezeichnung Ganerbenhaus stammt von den Ganerben im Mittelalter als den gemeinsamen Erben der Herren von Vellberg. Der Namenszusatz „Kammerer“ stammt vom letzten privaten Eigentümer, von dem es die Stadt Vellberg 1970 erworben hatte. Zuvor war dort auch schon eine Schlosserei untergebracht. Mit der Restaurierung wurde das seit 1993 wieder private Baudenkmal 1996 zum Hotel umgebaut. Das dreigeschossige Fachwerkwohnhaus von 1514 ist das älteste Gebäude im Städtle Vellberg und steht rückseitig auf der Stadtmauer.

Das Ganerbenhaus in Künzelsau
Die Jahreszahl auf dem Türsturz datiert das Gebäude auf das Jahr 1614. Der spätere Besitzer, Johann Marx Donner, Amtmann der Grafen Hohenlohe, baute es 1702 um. Er verschaffte dem Objekt vor allem die charakteristischen Erker, mit denen sich die angrenzenden Gassen gut überschauen ließen. Im Juli 2010 wurde in ihm das Stadtmuseum eingeweiht. In wechselnden Ausstellungen wird die Geschichte der Stadt aufgearbeitet. Unter dem Titel „Viele Herren, eine Stadt – Künzelsau unter den Ganerben“ wird in einer Ausstellung an die Ortsverfassung vom 15. bis zum 19. Jahrhundert erinnert.

Ganerbenwappen im Landkreis deuten auf das vererben von Besitzungen an folgenden Orten hin: Kloster Comburg, Burg Vellberg, Haus Hohenlohe, Reichsstadt Schwäbisch Hall, Burg Stetten, Stadt Künzelsau und Schloss Tierberg.
