The hike leads from the Hohenlohe Plateau down into the varied Schmerach and Bühlertal valleys and impressively combines nature and culture. Particularly characteristic is the Bühler, one of the few larger cold water rivers in Baden-Württemberg, which provides habitat for numerous animal species with its high water quality. Along the way, geological features such as muschelkalk outcrops and gypsum keuper can be discovered. Botanically, the tour has a lot to offer, for example with rare plants like the Turk's cap lily. With some luck, birds such as the white-throated dipper and kingfisher can be seen, while butterflies like the small copper or silver-washed fritillary enliven the meadows. Historical traces such as the former castle site of Anhausen or the old mill of Rappolden complement the nature experience. The destination is the picturesque town of Vellberg with well-preserved city fortifications and a historic castle that delights with its medieval flair.
