Gruttenstein Castle | Alpine town Bad Reichenhall
Die mittelalterliche Stadtburg wurde um 1218 zum Schutz der Stadt Bad Reichenhall und der Solequellen unter Herzog Ludwig I. von Wittelsbach errichtet. Burg Gruttenstein diente als Kaserne, Bollwerk, Wohnung für Salinenarbeiter und auch als Verwaltungssitz des Salzmaiers (Salinendirektor). Seit 2002 ist die Burg in Privatbesitz und bietet jährlich einen Ostermarkt, ein Weinfest und einen Burgadvent.
Denkmalschutz und Sanierung
Die Burg Gruttenstein wird ständig nach den Vorgaben des Denkmalschutzes in den historischen Zustand zurücksaniert. Der hintere Teil des Gastraumes der Burgschenke wurde neu umgebaut, mit einem Kachelofen versehen und liebevoll mit antiken Dekorationen zum Jagdgewölbe umgeändert. Bei den verschiedenen Veranstaltungen auf Burg Gruttenstein können sich die Besucher in dem einmaligen, historischen Ambiente wohlfühlen.
