In diesem Abschnitt wurde ein Fichtenforst zu Gunsten standorttypischer Laubwälder umgebaut. Am Fuße des Hanges werden sich mit der Zeit Bergahorn, Esche und Schwarzerle behaupten. Im Rahmen von „Patches & Corridors“ wurden hier Bergulmen angepflanzt. Hangaufwärts wird sich in Zukunft voraussichtlich die Zusammensetzung der Baumarten zu Gunsten von Rotbuche und Stieleiche ändern.

Dieser Punkt ist Bestandteil der Wanderroute 6 Belgenbach 3 - Silberblatt und Eichenwald und wurde erstellt im Rahmen des LIFE-Projektes "Patches & Corridors" an der Biologischen Station StädteRegion Aachen e.V.
