Der Weg wurde von einer Pioniereinheit gebaut, daher sein Name.

Es ist ein sehr schmaler, landschaftlich toller und teilweise ausgesetzter Pfad durch den Wald unterhalb des Königbronnhofes. Der Pfad ist auch bei Trail-Liebhabern mit den MTB sehr beliebt. Früher wurden die beiden Schluchten über Holzbrücken überquert. Nachdem diese aber vor Jahren eingestützt sind, wurde nun eine Umgehung geschaffen. Viele alte Grenzsteine, mit dem württembergischen Wappen, säumen den Weg. Der Pfad ist oft sehr feucht, rutschig und vereinzelt ganz schön steil. Hier benötigt man gute, griffige Schuhe. Am Ende kommen wir zum Blockhaus
