This yew tree, the oldest of the Côtes d'Armor, is between 1,500 and 1,800 years old, with a circumference of no less than 9.50 m and a height of 12 m.

Between 1704 and 1712, when the church tower was being built, its highest branches received the bells until their accommodation was ready. Above all, he has seen many generations pass by him to go to church to receive the sacraments of baptism, communion or marriage. He also looked after the deceased since not so long ago he housed the cemetery.

Next to this yew, we can see his son, only 500 years old.

In 1995, in order to make reproductions by cuttings, the crop department of the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle de Paris came to collect twigs from this tree listed among the remarkable trees.

In March 2000, the same service handed over three plants from the yew of the church enclosure to the municipality. These shrubs, now vigorous, were planted in the arboretum of the residential home, in the park of the Paradise Chapel and near the Folgoat Chapel.

In 2004, this superb tree was the victim of a fire that broke out inside its trunk, which has a cavity that can accommodate several people.
