Bizon je velký turovitý sudokopytník, samci měří až 170 cm a váží kolem tuny. Svůj původní domov má bizon v prériích Severní Ameriky. Kolem roku 1867 byl bizon prérijní téměř vyhuben, díky přísné ochraně byl ale nakonec zachráněn.
