Vuokatti - The Cross-country skiing paradise
Whether it’s summer or winter, snowsport training is possible in Vuokatti. The tracks are maintained with the high standards of the Vuokatti Olympic Training center.
The overall length of the Vuokatti ski trail network is 150 kilometres, of which 120 kilometres are groomed every winter for both classic and free technique skiing. To improve safety, trails are groomed wider than usual in the downhill legs. There are 32 kilometres of illuminated trails in Vuokatti. Lights turn on at 07:00 am and turn off at 9:30pm.The lights are not turned on if the temperature is -20˚C or below.
The trails of the so called "low lands" as well the "high lands" or hill side, start from the Vuokattihalli parking lot.

A fee is charged in the ski tunnel and first snow track, opened annually on 10th of October.

During the winter season, skiers are served by a free Vuokatti SkiBus https://vuokatti.fi/en/getting-here/
There are buses running between Kajaani and Sotkamo along the mainroad passing by Vuokatti Sports Institute.
