Die Punta Chiappa ist die Spitze der Halbinsel Portofino an der ligurischen Mittelmeerküste.
Die felsige und raue Landspitze ist mit ihrem glasklaren Wasser und einer Unterwassergrotte vor allem für Taucher und Schnorchler interessant. Der Name Punta Chiappa bedeutet „Pobackenpunkt“, zumindest im modernen Italienisch. Im Dialekt bedeutet „chiappa“ so viel wie „flach, eben“ – die Punta Chiappa ist, besonders von Genua aus gesehen, eine abgeflachte Verlängerung des steilen Berges. An der Punta Chiappa steht ein altes Artefakt, das in der Vergangenheit zur Messung der Navigationsgeschwindigkeit von Schiffen verwendet wurde. Erreicht wird die Punta Chiappa vom kleinen Hafen Porto Pidocchio über einen kurzen Fußweg. Oder aber man wandert die gesamte Strecke von San Rocco aus. Schon der britische Dichter George Gordon Byron – besser bekannt als Lord Byron – besuchte die Punta Chiappa und ließ sich von der rauen Natur inspirieren.

Mit dem Boot von Camogli oder San Fruttuoso zum Porto Pidocchio und das letzte Stück zu Fuß

Von Ruta verkehrt die Buslinie 74 bis San Rocco. Vom Ort aus muss man das letzte Stück zu Fuß gehen.

Von Genua kommend der SS1 in südöstlicher Richtung entlang der Küste folgen und in Ruta auf die Viale Franco Molfino wechseln und bis San Rocco fahren. Von hier aus muss man das letzte Stück zu Fuß zurücklegen.
