The circular hike takes us to Punta Chiappa, the tip of the Portofino peninsula in Liguria, which juts out into the sea and can be seen from afar. Boats bypass the cape from Camogli to San Fruttuoso and also call at the small Porto Pidocchio, from which it is only a short walk to Punta Chiappa. Above the coast is a World War II defense complex. Various gun positions are directly on the path and can be visited. In the visitor center, housed in the old guardhouse, some multimedia stations provide more detailed information. Along the way, we can also visit two churches and stop at two restaurants. The view over the Mediterranean and the Ligurian coast accompanies us throughout the entire route, which we cover along the water, through forest and olive groves, over stairs and past wildflowers.
