Before the 11th century Spabrücken belonged to the parish of Wallhausen, but the parish church was too far away from the village.
In 1359 the foundation for a new church was laid. According to an information of the 17th century that church was said to have been dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1483 Spabrücken church became a parish church.
Even before the Reformation there was a long pilgrimage tradition which was revived in the 17th century and still takes place to the present day. For further information and sightseeing please contact the Mayor ………
