Transromanica Kärnten
Die malerisch auf einer Halbinsel am Südufer des Wörthersees gelegene Pfarr- und ehemalige Stiftskirche wurde Ende des
9. Jahrhunderts durch den Bischof von Freising gegründet und ist jährlich auch Station der Schiffswallfahrt am 15. August. Nach der Gründung eines Kollegiatsstiftes im 12. Jahrhundert wurde die ehemalige Propstei 1529 dem St.-Georgs-Ritterorden, 1598 den Jesuiten und, seit 1773 wiederum als Pfarre geführt, 1808 dem Stift St. Paul unterstellt. Der spätgotische Bau mit romanischem Eingangsportal an der Südseite (um 1150) verfügt über zwei Chöre mit bemerkenswerten spätgotischen Gewölben. Im Innern beeindrucken der Hochaltar von 1658 mit der thronenden Maria mit Kind (um 1460), umgeben von den Statuen der Kirchenpatrone Primus und Felician, die Kanzel von 1771, ein Wandaltar mit gotischem Kruzifix aus der 1. Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts und verschiedene Votivbilder. Die etwas tiefer, nordwestlich gelegene Winter- oder Rosenkranzkirche, aus dem 12. Jahrhundert stammend und 1996 restauriert, ist mit romanischen (12. Jh.) sowie gotischen (14. Jh.) Wandmalereien im Chor, einer gotischen Glasmalerei von 1420/30, drei Altären aus dem 17. Jahrhundert und spätgotischen Statuen ausgestattet.
