Pfarrkirche hl. Margaretha

Die Kirche wurde urkundlich erstmals 1134 erwähnt. Die älteste heute rekonstruierbare Kirche von Ottmanach war ein flachgedeckter Saalraum mit östlich anschließendem Chorturm und halbrunder Apsis. Sie wurde von den Brüdern Engelschalk und Rahewin von Ottmanach errichtet und im Jahr 1134 vom bedeutenden Gurker Bischof Roman I. von Gurk geweiht.

Ursprünglich romanische Chorturmkirche, mehrfach verändert und erweitert. Spätgotisches Chorpolygon. 1995 Fassadenrestaurierung.

Der Kirchturm mit 8-seitigem Spitzhelm befindet sich heute südlich vom romanischen Chorjoch, laut Inschrift unter Pfarrer Antonius Groschar im 17. Jh. errichtet oder erneuert.

Das spätgotische Westportal hat eine gotische Eisenplattentür und das Deckengemälde der Vorlaube von 1759 zeigt die „Vertreibung der Wechsler aus dem Tempel“.

Rechts vom Hauptportal ein romanisches Seitenschiffportal mit Schmiedeeisenbeschlägen (Spiralen, geradlinige und gewellte Bänder). Es handelt sich bei den interessanten Türbeschlägen aus romanischer Zeit - die Kirche wurde 1134 durch den Salzburger Erzbischof Konrad I. Graf von Abensberg eingeweiht - um sogenannte "apotropäische" Zeichen, von welchen man glaubte, dass sie imstande seien, böse Mächte abzuwehren. Sie konnten durch die Schnecken, Schlangen und sonstigen Eisengebilde an der Tür von der Schwelle der Kirche vertrieben werden.

Am Westgiebel der Pfarrkirche ist ein einfacher Reliefkopf eingemauert, der, so die Vermutung der Kunsthistoriker, wie jener in Lendorf, einst das Dach der romanischen Apsis krönte.

Im Langhaus besitzt die Kirche ein spätgotisches Sterngratgewölbe, 3-jochig. Die leicht geschwungene Holzempore mit Orgelerker und reich geschnitzter Brüstung stammt aus der Mitte d. 18. Jhs.

Ein rundbogiger Triumphbogen bildet den Übergang zum 1-jochigen Chor mit 5/8 Schluss.

 Der Hochaltar (um 1720/1730) besitzt im Hauptgeschoß Figuren der hll. Margaretha, Joachim und Anna, im erneuerten Aufsatz die barocke Figure des hl. Johannes Ev. zwischen der hl. Apollonia und weiter weiteren weiblichen Heiligen.

Linker Seitenaltar M. 18. Jh., Madonnenfigur zwischen den hll. Barbara und Katharina, in der Mensa ein römerzeitliches Schreiberrelief von einem Grabbau.

Rechter Seitenaltar Kruzifix 19. Jh. vor einem Fresko Verdammte im Fegefeuer, 1840; seitlich barocke Figuren Maria und Johannes.

Kanzel 3. V. 18. Jh., 1777 gefasst von Franz Höcher. Ehemaliges Altarbild in reichgeschnitztem Rahmen Büßende Maria Magdalena, im Aufsatz Petrus, M. 18. Jh.; Bild Schutzengel übermalt 19. Jh.; barocke Konsolfigur 18. Jh., Auferstandener und die hll. Aloysius (?), Antonius, Florian, Petrus und Paulus.
