1785-87 entstand der barocke Zentralbau auf dem Grundriss eines griechischen Kreuzes. Der Turm kam 1805 dazu. 2012 nach ausgiebiger Renovierung wiedereröffnet, zeigt sich der Kirchenraum in seiner beeindruckenden Schlichtheit hell und einladend. Das älteste Ausstattungsstück ist der sehr schlichte Taufstein aus der Vorgängerkirche. Die zierliche Kanzel, auf die das Kirchengestühl ausgerichtet ist, wurde 1609 im Stile der späten Renaissance gebaut. Die prächtige Orgel mit ihrer über 400-jährigen Geschichte ist eines der ältesten Instrumente Ostfrieslands.
