in the west of the village on a hillside above a healing spring, the water of which
is collected in a barrel vaulted room under the church.
Especially worth mentioning is the roofed wooden entrance area of the church and the Gothic winged altar with its marvellous carved wooden figures of St. Catherine, St. Barbara and St. Vincent, and the shrine with the crucified Jesus, Mary and John the disciple. The only bell of St. Catherine’s Church was cast in 1496, almost an entire generation before the church was first mentioned in official documents.
