As with the Limburg, a castle was turned into a place of worship.

The castle of the Counts of Leiningen stood here. After its destruction in the Palatinate War of Succession in 1689, the reformed community acquired the ruins and built a simple baroque church by 1756. This burned down in 1945, was rebuilt between 1953 and 1956 with a two-storey interior and today serves as a community centre for the Protestant congregation. Events organised by the Bad Dürkheim Art Association are also held here.
